International Trade

The Government signs Free Trade Agreements and Schemes of Preferences with other countries to help businesses pay less import tariffs or custom duties. If you export Singapore-made goods, you must obtain a Certificate of Origin (CO) to prove the goods are manufactured locally.

Free Trade Agreements
Singapore has trade agreements with a number of countries that can benefit traders importing from, or exporting to, these countries.
Schemes Of Preferences
Schemes of Preferences also help to reduce trade barriers. They are formed among nations who all agree to give preferential trade tariffs to participating nations.
Certificate of Origin (CO) for Local Goods
The Certificate of Origin is a very important document. It establishes where a product is made and determines whether the product qualifies for benefits under Free Trade Agreements and Schemes of Preferences.
