A new S$1 million pilot scholarship programme has been launched by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) and German Institute of Science and Technology (TUM Asia).
The Manufacturing STEP Scholarship programme (MS2) is aimed at elevating the capability level of managers within the manufacturing industry. It will also help Professionals, Managers and Executives (PMEs) to progress in their careers paths with industry-relevant training.
Under this first of its kind scholarship programme, employers can nominate and sponsor their staff to pursue a Master of Science degree in areas such as Aerospace Engineering and Microelectronics. WDA will provide additional funding support and will cover grants over a 3-year period. Scholars will be additionally supported with an attachment with their sponsored company, as well as a career progression plan designed by their employer.
The 3-year degree programme includes these study areas:
- Master of Science in Integrated Circuit Design
- Master of Science in Industrial Chemistry
- Master of Science in Transportation and Logistics
- Master of Science in Biomedical Imaging and Computing
