International visitor arrivals in 2011 totaled some 13.2 million. About three-quarters (76%) of visitors came from Asia. The top 4 countries of arrival were: China, Malaysia, Australia and India.

Meanwhile, the hotel industry also saw gazetted home room revenue total some S$2.6 billion, a growth of 27.8% on-year. Revenue per available room (RevPAR) reached S$212 in 2011, a record 15% on-year growth.

However, STB noted that growth is likely to moderate in the coming year due to the uncertain global economy.
