New Scholarship Programme Offered To Groom More Talent

Application is now open and will close on 1 April 2012.

To develop a strong workforce in key strategic sectors, 100 new scholarships will be offered under the Singapore-Industry Scholarship (SgIS).The scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate students at a local autonomous university or Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).

Online application is now open and will close on 1 April 2012.

The scholarships are available across 28 participating organisations in industries such as:

  • Engineering
  • Electronics
  • Energy
  • Tourism
  • Info-Communications
  • Consumer Business
  • Healthcare
  • Social Services

Upon graduation, scholars can look forward to:

  • internships and development opportunities
  • a career in a prominent organisation or enterprise

Partner organisations include ST Engineering, Charles & Keith Group, BHP Billiton, Singapore Airlines and KPMG.

The scholar is required to serve a 4-year bond with his/her sponsoring organisation upon graduation.

This initiative was launched by the Ministry of Education (MOE) together with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and other government agencies.
