Singapore Changi Airport handled 4.09 million passenger movements in May 2012, an increase of 8.4% compared to the same month in the previous year.

Flight movements also increased by 8%.

The airport said Asia continued to be a key growth driver, growing 12% to 20.6 million, with traffic to and from Northeast Asia, South Asia and the Middle East.

On the cargo front, Changi Airport registered 152,900 tonnes of cargo last month, down 2.8% year-on-year. For the first 5 months of this year, airfreight tonnage decreased 1.3% to 745,000 tonnes.
