Revised rates to take effect from 1 March 2012.

The Government has reduced development charges (DC) for the residential non-landed sector by 3% on average, a huge drop from the previous 12.2% rate 6 months ago.

The Ministry of National Development has revised rates from the period 1 March 2012 to 31 August 2012.

DC rates for different sectors are as follows:

  • Group A Commercial: +6% (with the largest increase in Sengkang / Seletar area)
  • Group B1 Residential, Landed: +17%
  • Group B2 Residential, Non-landed: -3% (with significant decreases in Punggol, Hougang and Toa Payoh)
  • Group C Hotel / Hospital: +15% (with the largest increase at Alexandra, Pasir Ris and Holland areas)

Development charges are paid to the Government when land use for a particular site is enhanced upon redevelopment.

The revision exercise is conducted every 6 months.
