Registered Designs are used primarily to protect designs for industrial use. It is the right given by the Government to the owner to control the use of his design.
Shape, configuration, pattern, ornament that is applied to an article by an industrial process.
E.g. fabric pattern for a sofa, mobile phone design.
Valid for 5 years from date of application. Renewable every 5 years up to maximum of 15 years.
